Mercy-Part Three

The following are verses with the word mercy in them. We could also list verses with pity and compassion, but since these are suppose be ‘nuggets’, we will stay with the word mercy.

 

Isaiah 63:9

In all their affliction He was afflicted,

And the angel of His presence saved them;

In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them;

And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old.

 

Daniel 4:27

'Therefore, O king, may my advice be pleasing to you: break away now from your sins by doing righteousness, and from your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor, in case there may be a prolonging of your prosperity.'

 

Matthew 5:7

"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

 

Matthew 9:27

And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out, and saying, "Have mercy on us, Son of David!"

 

Matthew 15:22

And behold, a Canaanite woman came out from that region, and began to cry out, saying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is cruelly demon-possessed."

 

Matthew 17:15

"Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is a lunatic, and is very ill; for he often falls into the fire, and often into the water.

 

Matthew 20:30-31

And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, hearing that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, "Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!" 31And the multitude sternly told them to be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying, "Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!"

 

Matthew 23:23

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.

 

Mark 10:46-48

And they came to Jericho. And as He was going out from Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the road.

And when he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" 48And many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"

 

Luke 10:36-37
"Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers' hands?" And he said, "The one who showed mercy toward him." And Jesus said to him, "Go and do the same."

 

Luke 17:11-13

And it came about while He was on the way to Jerusalem, that He was passing between Samaria and Galilee. [12] And as He entered a certain village, ten leprous men who stood at a distance met Him; [13] and they raised their voices, saying, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!"

 

Luke 18:35-39

And it came about that as He was approaching Jericho, a certain blind man was sitting by the road, begging. [36] Now hearing a multitude going by, he began to inquire what this might be. [37] And they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. [38] And he called out, saying, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" [39] And those who led the way were sternly telling him to be quiet; but he kept crying out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"

 

Romans 11:30-32

For just as you once were disobedient to God, but now have been shown mercy because of their disobedience, 31so these also now have been disobedient, in order that because of the mercy shown to you they also may now be shown mercy. 32For God has shut up all in disobedience that He might show mercy to all.

 

Romans 15:9

and for the Gentiles to glorify God for His mercy; as it is written,

 

"Therefore I will GIVE PRAISE TO Thee among the Gentiles,

And I will sing to Thy name."

 

2 Cor. 4:1

Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart,

 

Ephes. 2:4

But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

 

Philip. 2:27

For indeed he was sick to the point of death, but God had mercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.

 

1 Tim. 1:2

to Timothy, my true child in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

 

1 Tim. 1:13

even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. And yet I was shown mercy, because I acted ignorantly in unbelief;

2 Tim. 1:16

The Lord grant mercy to the house of Onesiphorus for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chains;

 

2 Tim. 1:18

the Lord grant to him to find mercy from the Lord on that day-- and you know very well what services he rendered at Ephesus.

 

Titus 3:5

He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

 

Hebrews 4:16

Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need.

 

James 2:13
For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.

 

James 3:17

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.

 

1 Peter 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

 

1 Peter 2:10

for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received MERCY, but now you have received MERCY.

 

Jude 1:21-23

keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. 22And have mercy on some, who are doubting; 23save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh.
