SHARING THE GOSPEL-Part Two
Why Share the Gospel?
"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a witness to all the nations, and then the end shall come."
"And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations."
And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation."
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
The scriptures above make it clear that we should be sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. We share the gospel because:
1. Jesus commanded us to share the gospel
2. The end of this world and the creation of a new heaven and earth is dependent upon us sharing the gospel.
3. Jesus will not come until the gospel is preached to all nations.
4. Because we should want everyone we know to have eternal life.
5. Because there is joy in heaven when we share the gospel.
6. To see a person turn towards God is a blessing.
Not every Christian is called to the office of Evangelist, but every Christian has a responsibility to share their testimony with others. Not everyone is called to preach, but everyone can share what Jesus has done in their life. God has chosen people to share His message of salvation.
Some say they share the gospel by the good life they live. It is true that we should be living a godly life. But being honest, a hard worker, clean living, does not necessary testify of Jesus. Some people from cults live moral lives, but don't have salvation. If you are living a good, moral life, at some point you have the responsibility to let people know that Jesus gives you the strength to live a moral life.
Some say they are shy so they are not able to share the gospel. Even a very shy person can plant seeds for the kingdom.
Some say they do not know how to share the gospel. In this next nugget our topic will be "How To Share the Gospel".
