What if your Career Day was spent with a judge? You would
get to put on a black robe, go to the judge's chambers, sit at the bench, and confer with
the judge about each case. You would be walking in his steps and for that day you
would have the same authority that he has.
You may enjoy your time with the judge so much, that you
decide to support him when he comes up for election. Again, you go wherever he goes. For
awhile it is almost like you and him are inseparable as you walk in his steps.
What if you found out later that the judge was dishonest? You would be embarrassed and
ashamed. You would hope that nobody noticed that you had been walking in his steps.
What does this have to do with IN HIS STEPS?
When we accepted Christ into our life, we decided to join Him in His work. By the power of
the Holy Spirit, Jesus lives within us. When we are walking in the Spirit, we are walking In
His Steps, because He is leading us wherever we go. And guess what? As a believer we
are given His authority. We have authority over Satan, sickness, and more. We no longer
need to be controlled by sin, we can have victory over sin.
And praise God, when we are walking In His Steps
we never have to be ashamed of Jesus. And Jesus is not only the Judge, he is our Advocate.
He is our Defense Attorney. And God has called us to lead others to the cross so that they
may receive salvation and have Him as their 'Defense Attorney'.
So, let's WALK IN HIS STEPS! May our steps and
His be one.
The
Mission
Most of us have heard the 'Footprints'
story. We want to expand on that story. Instead of the footprints representing Christ
carrying us through the rough times, we hope the one set of footprints will represent us
walking in unity with Him. This website is committed to the goal of helping others to WALK
IN CHRIST. To know Him personally and
intimately. And to enjoy our relationship with Him.
To GROW IN CHRIST.
We also want to help those who are
considering to follow Jesus. We recommend books, Bible studies, and websites to help those
who are spiritual seekers. And of course we have a link on
How To Accept Christ.
And we offer
Alpha Courses.
At times, in this website, there
will be some direct statements made in regards to holiness, righteousness,
repentance. These statements are never meant to be condemning, critical, or
judgmental. Please read them in the light of the gospel-mercy, grace,
forgiveness.
Our God is a God of holiness. However, He
calls us to walk in His righteousness by the power of the Holy Spirit, not by our own
strength. It is a work that He does within us. There is nothing good or righteous
that we can do without His strength. Our God will give us grace to have victory over sin.
As Christians, we need to learn how to
Abide in Christ.
In His Steps provides information,
resources, etc. for those who know Jesus and those seeking to know Jesus. We
also provide
links
to Christian individuals, businesses, and organizations. We want to be able to help
individuals and organizations that are lifting up the name of Jesus on the Internet. If you have a website that you believe will
be helpful to fulfill our Mission Statement, then let us know.
THE NEW
"FOOTPRINTS"
Now imagine you and Jesus are walking
along the beach together. For much
of the way His footprints go along steadily, consistently, rarely varying in the
pace. But your prints are in a disorganized stream of zig zags, starts, stops,
turnarounds, circles, departures, and returns.
For much of the way it seems to go
like this. But gradually, your footprints
come in line with His, soon paralleling Him consistently. You and Jesus are
walking as true friends. This seems perfect, but then an interesting thing
happens; your footprints that once etched the sand next to the Master's are
now walking precisely in His steps. Inside His large footprints is the smaller
"sand print," safely enclosed. You and Jesus are becoming one;
this goes on
for many miles.
But gradually you notice another change. The footprints inside the larger
footprints seem to grow larger. Eventually it disappears altogether. There is
only one set of footprints. They have become one; again this goes on for a
long time.
But then something awful happens. The second set of footprints is back.
This time it seems even worse than before. Zig zags all over the place.
Stop...start. Deep gashes in the sand. A veritable mess of prints.
You're
amazed and shocked. But this is not the end of your dream.
Now you speak: "I understand the first scene with the zig zags, fits,
starts and so on. I was a new Christian, just learning. But You walked on
through the storm and helped me learn to walk with You."
"That is correct," replies Jesus.
"Then, when the smaller footprints were inside of Yours, I was actually
learning to walk in Your steps. I followed You very closely."
"Very good. You have understood everything so far."
"Then the smaller footprints grew and eventually filled in with Yours. I
suppose that I was actually growing so much that I was becoming more like
You in every way."
"Precisely," replies Jesus.
"But this is my question. Was there a regression of something? The
footprints went back to two, and this time it was worse than the first."
Jesus smiles, then laughs. "You didn't know?" He says. "That was when
we danced."
FOR HE WILL TURN YOUR MOURNING INTO DANCING!!!!!!!
WHAT WE BELIEVE
... the Bible to be
the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God.
... there is one God, eternally
existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost
... in the deity of our Lord Jesus
Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and
atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the
Father, and in His personal, future return to this earth
... water baptism by immersion
... the baptism in the Holy Spirit,
in which the evidence is the proclaiming of the Gospel with boldness,
and most of the time the receiving of a prayer language
... in the sanctifying power of the
Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.
... in the resurrection of both the
saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting death.
